Forgive us!

(Al-Ahqaaf-1 5, Holy Quran)

"Your Lord has declared that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to the parents. If one or both of them attain old-age in your life, do not say to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them with words of honour. And, out of kindness, lower the wing of humility for them and say "My Lord, have mercy on them as they cared for me when I was little."

It is sometimes difficult to deal with grouchy aging elders. But here we have the light of truth to remind us to be merciful and realize, they are in pain, not fully themselves, and are most deserving to be treated with honor.
