Islam and childmarriage

Muslims believe Mohammed was the greatest example to mankind. Authentic hadiths document that in his 50s he married a SIX year-old and "deflowered" her at the age of NINE. Mohammed asserted -despite protests from Aisha’s father Abu Bakr- that he had a “legal right” to marry Aisha, and encouraged other men to marry young girls too.

Some muslims suggest Aisha was postpubertal, but nothing in the Sunnah supports this and besides, Mohammed saw she was still playing with her dolls. A NINE YEAR OLD playing with her dollies is physically and psychologically a CHILD in the mind of any sane human being.

Also, Islam itself forbids females to play with dolls after childhood.

The hadiths record Aisha saying that her hair fell out. This is also observed as a symptom suffered by victims of paedophilia.

For Mohammed, a girl’s “consent” to a marriage was her silence. So a SIX year old who, apparently says nothing to the contrary, is consenting to marry a man easily old enough to be her grandfather!! __From Sahih Al-Bukari(authentic hadiths)__

"Narrated Aisha that the prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old." Vol. 7:64

"I used to play with dolls in the presence of the prophet, and my girl friends also used to play too. When Allah's apostle came to our house they used to hide. But the prophet would call them to join and play with me." (Fateh al-Bari, Volume 13)

"The prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six. He took me to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell out...(Later) Unexpectedly Allah's apostles came to me one morning and my mother handed me over to him to consummate the marriage. At the time I was a girl of nine years of age. (Bukhari 5:8:234)

"A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her and a virgin should not be given in marriage except with her permission.' The people asked, "O, allah's apostle. How can we know that she permits?' He said, 'Her silence shall be proof of her CONSENT.'" (Bukhari 7:62:67)

"When she was 6, Mohammed asked Abu Bakr, Aisha's father, for her hand in marriage. Abu Bakr thought it was improper, because, as he said, 'I am your brother.' Mohammed brushed aside Abu Bakr's reservation by saying that he had a legal right to marry Aisha." (Bukhari 17:18)
