You are SUCH a gem! You are wise in your knowledge and experience of the MC and flushing, truly an angel for sharing that so frequently with so many - over and over again but taking the time to personalize it, and something special for your real-ness. Because despite all you DO know, you are comfortable with posting that you have no idea what's going on and things are getting tough.

I commend you - along with everyone else on this forum - for being unwilling to bury those unpleasant experiences - but instead, being willing to relive them and look them in the face in order to heal them. Rowan, too! She threw out A LOT of stuff.

As far as the "bad stuff that happened at the hands of people [you] trusted" - yeah. Dysfunctional parents? Yeah, I know that song! But you know, they did the best they could with what they knew as they understood it at the time. It's so NOT about US in what was "done" to us, and so ALL about US in how we choose to inerpret those same things.

I will back with you and answer those other questions about was it worth it, etc -probably as a separate post so that newbies and others get a head up and can check it out if they want to.

Thanks for your last note on the cheese - yes! Everything in moderation. Like the bible verse about money - it's not MONEY that is the root of all evil, but the LOVE of money! Your reminder is spoken like a true fellow cheese lover, but one who's gotten it under control.

And yes, there IS more stuff in there. While we are on this earth now - this time, the onion is never fully peeled, and the journey is never over. But the pain that comes with that is part of the joy for being willing to look ourselves in the face and take responsibility for our feelings and emotions.
