Check your Prescription Drugs!

Hi all...

My step dad just told me an interesting story about a friend of his that he exercises with.

His friend is in his 70's, has a pace maker (that you can see through his t-shirts, under his skin), is quite blue in colouring - very unhealthy, looks very sickly and wan all the time and his fingernails and toenails have been falling off. It sounds like he's just barely keeping it together to stay alive.

Well...here's the story.

The other day this man walks into the exercise room and my stepdad says, "Hey!! You're looking great! What did you do? What happened?" And this guys says...

That his doctor was away on holidays (that's your first clue!) and that there was a replacement doctor at his appointment. Well...he walks in to see this new doctor and the doctor takes one look at him and says, "What's going on here...what is your trouble?" and our guy whips out the list of Drugs that his doctor has put him on. The doctor can't believe it. This guy is taking 32 pills a day!!!!! (argh - my blood is beginning to boil!)

So! This new doctor takes him off ALL his pills except one - his diabetes pill - and sends him home. This guy has not changed one thing other than going off 31 pills a day (!) and is looking and feeling great now! (because of his perceived sickness he has been eating well and exercising)

So...whadya think of that??

This reminds me of what Tim O'Shea says in "The Journey to the Center of the Colon" at his The Doctor Within site (link below). Any of you taking medications daily should do a Drug Check:

Drug check.

"Get a Physicians Desk Reference. I don't know, just get one. WalMart maybe. Get your glasses or a magnifying glass. Look up every drug you're taking. Read all the fine print on each one. Much of it is doctor-babble, but you'll be able to understand the part about Adverse Reactions. That means side effects. Read the whole section on each drug. When you're all done, ask yourself - did your doctor do all that reading before he wrote you the prescription? Then read Conventional Medicine Vs. Holistic . If drugs were going to cure you, wouldn't you'd already be better? See how many of your current problems are listed as side effects of the drugs you're taking. Exactly when did you expect your doctor to take you off drugs?"

I am trying to get this man to write his own report so I post it - we'll see what happens.

love Tracey
