Re: Where I'm at...

hi. thanks for your email. Not taking deep breaths helps to stop lungs from over inflating more and worsening the condition. I try always to control my breathing and that is helped by breathing through the nose. All I have read is from the 'breath connection' book by Hale. ( cant remember the author's first name, but it is easy to track down). Local libraries should stock it. I have ordered a copy to buy...there are other books as well that talk about it. Just look up on the net about breathing techniques related to COPD or emphysema.( Apparantly the technique works brilliantly for asthma)
I am lucky I guess that my condition was realised before it became very debilitating. Hopefully I can halt it from progressing. From the things i have read I can see no reason why the condition cannot be halted if not improved.I think the guidelines in the book are important reading for anyone with overbreathing or chronic lung problems.
Regards and thanks again for your email!
