Re: Intestinal Cleanse and Celiac
Hi! While we wait for others who are more knowledgeable on this to give you a better answer, I'll try to share what i can for you.
My sister was diagnosed with Celiac-- in her case, she has noticable symptoms- including the Irritable Bowel syndrome for years. After she cut out all Gluten, her body responded dramatically! While Celiac Sprue causes many to lose too much weight, in many people, it has the opposite effect and causes the thyroid to slow down their metabolism, causing weight gain.
What i'd do for the intestinal cleanse would be to start eating all the allowable RAW fruits and veggies-- probably the fruits will be all types of raw berries, papaya (great digestive enzymes) raw pineapple (again, great digestive enzymes in here-- and
parasite killing Bromelain), raw apples, (pectin good for digestion- and also a detoxifier of heavy metals, etc.)
If you are permitted Dairy- i'd start taking Kefir (very high in various natural probiotics) and mix with some fruit to sweeten. Also , organic yogurt is good and will help aid your stressed out intestinal tract.
Now- to help you elmininate your bowels and keep you regular --- a MAJOR key to digestive health, I wont suggest Psyllum Husk for Celiacs. Im not too sure if Celiacs are permitted Psyllum Husk. Maybe they are. I do know that Psyllum Husk does have an aggravating effect on the lower bowels- and if you have Celiac, this is NOT what you can afford for your intestinal tract. Just in case, I would suggest instead you start taking the herb, Cascara Sagrada. Two capsules at morning and two at night with water. Cascara is NOT a laxative herb, but actually a colon stimulant and toner herb that will help the colon contract and move to push out feces.
laxatives only make the colon LAX so feces can come out. In the long run, this is actually bad for the lower bowels, and creates dependency.-- whereas Cascara will actually excersize and tone up the colons muscles-- and in the long term, this will also keep the colon in good health -- as though it worked out at a gym, so to speak.
Incorporate healthy animal based fats into your diet... Such as Olive oil , and other plant oils permitted.
Olive-Oil actually is the most ideal, and it even keeps your ph balance on the alkaline side.
Try to keep away from red meats and do make up all types of interesting salads with olive oil and apple cidar vinegar or Balsamic vinegar. Add garlic if permitted. Garlic also will kill many intestinal parasites.
Have herbal teas between meals. The warmth of the teas will keep your stomach warm and satisfy hunger urges-- pick up appealing herbal teas. Add raw honey to sweeten if permitted. I would suggest Stevia but im not sure if Celiacs are permitted Stevia as it is a fiber.
Add things like Cinnamon sticks, or Annisette seeds to your teas for flavor. You'll enjoy them between meals, and cinnamon and annisette helps the digestive tract and cleanses it. Peppermint also has this effect and also stimulates and tones the digestive tract. If permitted, try peppermint tea once in a while.
If you cut up some pieces of Ginger root in your herbal tea, it provides a nice bite to the tea- and if you sweeten it, it tastes verrry good. This is also verryy good for the digestive tract as well as an effective
parasite killer- another added bonus.
I got these capsules for $5.99 a box of Oregano Oil and Peppermint oil. You take them 20 minutes before a meal. You can feel the cooling sensation of the peppermint in your intestinal tract after a few minutes. Oregano Oil is a great
parasite killer- so that is an added benefit.
All in all- to intestinal cleanse, Id say raw fruits and vegetables-- and raw nuts. have raw citrus throughout the week. This cleanses the digestive tract, as well as helps the liver and thyroid flush toxins, and keeps the ph balance on the alkaline side (even though citrus is acidic in the mouth, it is very alkaline in the body)
Id also suggest yogurt and Kefir-- or at least probiotic capsules if dairy is not permitted for you. and i'd suggest skipping regular milk as well as meats (because of the fattening hormones added to livestock to fatten them as well as how meat interferes with digestion) while cleansing your intestines.
If you do have meat, only have the amount the size of a deck of cards no more than 3 times a week, and chew thouroughly- and throw in a probiotic capsule to help the digestive tract break it down.
There is so much more you can do-- Get some sunlight to keep your Seratonin levels up- which will help you with
Depression and appetite. Visit your health food store and search for items that are Gluten free , yet tasty alternatives to snacks you can enjoy. Buy them online if you dont have an alternative healthfood store near you.
Best wishes to you-and
hang in there!
