Re: Intestinal Cleanse and Celiac
I have recently discovered that I have a gluten-intolerance as well as an allergy to dairy products. I have been on a GFDF/candida diet for some weeks now. Granted, I have slipped a couple of times and had something sweetened with either fruit juice or organic evaporated cane juice, both no no's, but hey, I was weak, and rather depressed about the longevity of the GFCF side of the diet. The pain keeps me from making that mistake with gluten or dairy. But...all is not lost. I have used psyllium husks successfully without pain, but I am currently using an ayurvedic combination called Triphala. It is a combination of 3 herbs that help to tonify the colon, and gets things moving out. It is very helpful, and non-irritating.
I concur with everything Boldyloxx said, but I have not been able to incorporate milk kefir due to my allergy. I was making smoothies with it until I realized my dairy allergy. It's funny, you live with certain pains for soo long that you almost don't notice them. I recently discovered that for I don't know how long, I would rub my leg in preparation and throughout my meals, to deal with the internal pain. I didn't even realize that I did this until I had been on the diet for a few days and wasn't having any pain when I ate. Then I was like, hmmmm, I wonder why I'm rubbing my leg and tensing up, it's just lunch? Then it all hit home, my body was aware of the pain the whole time.
Be sure to gradually increase your water so that you are consuming 1/2 your body weight in
ounces of water. This will help you get your body into the habit of flushing toxins and out of draught mode where it holds onto water weight, and in turn toxins.
Good luck, and after a while, the diet isn't soo bad. At least we've still got potatos!
