How about getting a second opinion? Is there another reputable acupuncturist in town? Another Chiropractor?

Acupuncture treatments should mostly be painless. If it hurts every time then something is not right. Be careful. I hope your practitioner knows what he's doing. One of my mother's friends in Hong Kong got an acupuncture treatment from a supposedly well-known practitioner, and ended up having nerve damage on her lower leg. (That was at least two years ago. Although she can walk, her leg feels numb to this day.)
