Will the swelling go down?

Hi, I'm 23 and not an overly serious suffer of Hemorrhoids. I've had about 3 external ones before, which blew up quite big, were very painful, then eventually became small tags. The longest took a week.

At the moment I have one. I got it last week on saturday. It wasn't too bad, but I stupidly was quite active, which made it work. I waited the whole week for it to subside, using some cream to stop the pain. On the thurday, it bled profusely. All I can assume is I moved in a such a way that rubbed it. I didn't use cream that day, so it might've been more succeptable.

It finally stopped bleeding when I woke up on friday. Now it's not bleeding when I go to the toilet, and it's no longer painful, but it's still the same size. It's lunch time on the saturday, and if anything it's a bit bigger than it was originally.

My question is, has this not reduced in size because it bled, and may it still reduce in size, or is it possible it will always be this big now? (It's about the size of two peas). If it won't reduce in size now, can the doctor do anything about it that doesn't require anything to major?
