Re: ADD / Dyslexia / AD-HD
Honestly, I know that things are not as good as they should be dietwise. We built our own home and have not had a stove because our other one was in our old trailer and we had a mold problem in that trailer and didn't want it in this home. So I have been cooking on the grill and using a toaster oven for awhile. We have just gotten some money to buy a stove and are planning to purchase one this week.
As far as my son goes, he and his brother are under the care of a DAN doctor and she has him on several things. MB12 shots, glutathione cream, zinc drops, Vit. C powder, CoQ10, Folinic acid, calcium/mag, P5P w/magnesium (B6), cod liver oil, Diflucan for yeast, and DMSA chelating cream. He is also on Singulair for dust mite allergy. He also has OT and speech therapy twice a week. To say the least this eats up our money. I have to do this for both of my children, and I'm Type 1 diabetic. We hardly have money to pay our bills.
We found that my son had a bad IgG allergy to onion, and very low allergies to over 15 other foods. Do you know how many things have onion powder in them or "spices"? :) The doc said that when it is over 15, they say that there is a gut issue causing the allergies. Well that's correct, he doesn't like to drink much of anything. He has had a big problem with constipation, and stomach pains. I have taken him to a gastro doc, who has tested him for parasites, bacterias, and celiac. He tested positive for one celiac antigen, but not positive for celiac disease.
I think the constipation is helped by George's Active Aloe. He sometimes goes twice a day. But, it's $24 a jug and I've run out of that. The gastro doc told me to use Cultrelle probiotics to help with his stomach and gut.
We don't eat healthy like you have mentioned. The only fast food he gets is chicken tenders from Burger King on therapy days and some pizza from Little Ceasars. Usually, we eat grilled chicken with salt and pepper and steamed broccoli with real butter and corn or green beans. I can't get my son to eat fresh veggies for nothing.
I feel there is alot more I could do, but every day seems like a struggle. I have to find ways every day to get the supplements into two children, and I can hardly function myself and remember my own meds.
Thanks for the centerpointe info, and I'll check Dr. Young's website. I remember seeing his name before when researching.
