First time here and have read through all messages. Wow! a place where I can discuss metabolic typing. Got Metabolic Typing Diet book day before Metabolic Man,10,000 Years from Eden. Wished I'd read MM before MTD to get the overview with less
Science first. Since I have read George Watson's Nutrition and Your Mind and Rudolph Wiley's Biobalance. If I understand correctly Watson and Wiley preceeded Kelley and Wolcott. One thing that Wiley recommends that Wolcott doesn't to my memory is that the acid type(Wolcott's protein) eat animal protein 3 times a day with no dairy protein substitute which gave me more improvement. Wiley also lists the supplements for type which MTD does not. My MM copy is out, remember mention in there but unsure if how much was included. Have added the calcium and zinc with improvement. Magnesium all these years was wrong for me. Soon to add recommended B parts. Someone posted about C & E dangers. Interesting, bought some C ascorbic acid the other day, took some that night and cannot find the bottle since. Was irritating till now.:-)
Have printed out part of the Kelley book and have been reading it at night. Lapis, I think thanks for that.
Marantha, sounds like you and your daughter are acid, protein types. Quitting gluten, wheat, barley and rye and most dairy should help tremendously physically and mentally. Changes in me that did are too numerous to remember. Nut butter and
Celery or apple help cravings.
Henry Bieler in Food is Your Best Medicine also found that the more vegetarian diet helped him recover while his wife needed a more protein rich diet for recovery.
