a true master monk can have that experience any time he or she wants to. someone who uses psychodelics is dependant upon that substance. also the monk has spent years perfecting his or her soul vessel for such an experience. someone who "cheats" by using drugs has not gone through the process and thus their soul vessel is open during the experience to outside influences from disembodied entities who may have ill intent, or they may encounter unresolved emotional disorders within themselves that can create states of fear and paranoia. i am neither for nor against the use of psychadelics, but i do not believe that the experience of the monk and that of the drug taker is the same thing.
