Yeah, so I just finished my fourth day at the new job and now it's Thanksging weekend. It's good so far. It's much better than the last one. The last one there was just 4 employees, two of them was bosses and one of the bosses was an sob. This is a big insurance company in an office building. The guy who's been showing me the software is nice enough. I'm fixing errors in the database, just juggling numbers around basically. They given me my own little cubicle, electronic security badge, the whole 9 yards. Over lunch hour I've been sitting in my car in the dark basement, eating my tuna sandwich, listening to The Doors. Could be worse. The hardest part for me is you know, talking smooth at the water cooler, trying not to come off like a nut, it's not easy for me but I don't think they can fire me for that.
I'm absolutely committed to this until sometime near next Summer. What I didn't know when I quit the last one was there are lots of good land listings on ebay for under 10k. I'd love to get an acre or two somewhere in the Appalacian mountains or the Adirondacks, but going up into Ontario or Quebec may become more appealing depending on what zany ideas Dubya comes up with next. So that's the short term goal, just to secure something. It preys on my mind all the time, not having a retreat of my own. Part of being a Cancer I guess.
Congrats about getting to head down South of the Border. I'm sure you will have a nice time. I'd love to visit Mexico, to hang out in the desert, see the nice beaches they got. If you visit any of the Mayan ruins I'd love to see some pictures. Just make sure you either bring lots of bottled water or some Pepto Bismol, haha. A close friend went off to Thailand to teach English some months ago, so now I've got some cashflow maybe I'll get to take an exotic vacation in the new year too.
The GAP run stuff is interesting, sounds like there's been a whir around you and people you know. I don't know anyone else so I wouldn't know, but the new job thing is very significant for me. What I notice is that this first GAP run is always fixed from the 2nd to 11th day of the Red Serpent Wavespell. The second GAP run is always fixed from the 3rd to 12th day of the Yellow Seed Wavespell. Maybe there is some balance between the Red Serpent and Yellow Seed energies? They say there is also significance to the energy of the central 'mystic' column, wherein there are no GAPs but I don't understand what that's about. That period straddles the Mirror and Monkey Wavespells, so maybe there is more in store for you and I.
Your ideas about the two calendars sound reasonable to me. Like you say, the basic recurring split of two is everywhere. It's also there in the big religions: Catholic and Protestant, Sunni and Shiite. Do you suppose in Western Astrology that it's not really split third third third sun sign, moon sign, and ascendant and really sun sign and moon sign are proportionally much more important than ascendant? I can't help myself trying to attach numbers and proportions to this stuff.
Thanks for the link. I knew next to nothing about the Mayan long count except that it was only in use by natives in Peru. I have been curious about it for a long time. I've been skeptical about the Dreamspell for the reason cited by many others: the day out of time is fishy. So we're going along and each day has a specific energy then all of a sudden on a day determined by the Gregorian calendar it suddenly takes a breather from this ancient loop for 24 hours??? Also I've been skeptical since I read The Mayan Factor and saw how foundationless Arguelles' arguments are, he's the main guy that developed the Dreamspell.
I don't know much about Monkey. It's weird to suddenly find out all you thought of what you are is only half the picture. I can tell you that the Monkey who writes the Conscious Burrito never makes me laugh, though I get the feeling he thinks he is hilarious. :/ Monkey is one of my 4 personal years. Is a person's long count glyph always one of their 4 personal years in the Dreamspell? My last Blue Monkey year was a lot of fun. I was a senior in college and my life was filled with laughter and suprises for the first time in a long while. I had friends, was going to parties, trying psychedelics, it was a good time. Hmmm, forming playfullness and resonating death, it's no wonder I got some mental issues...
I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm glad this forum is bustling, it's my second favorite forum after the Leaky Gut forum. <:OD
It's a good feeling when the weekend means something again. Yay Thanksgiving. I think I'll go post my dream this morning, it was a doozy.
