This is nothing personal against you Lori nor a flame of any form. Everybody calls what we are doing in Iraq a War, but doesn't it seem like calling Iraq a war is a little like seeing an adult beat a child and calling it a fist-fight?
I mean basically we are just ousting a dicator, and mopping up the insurgents. I could see calling it a war if Iraq had been responsible for the 9/11 bombings as a first strike and we retaliated, but Iraq wasn't involved in that.
I don't wan't to use politically motivated words dripping with innuendos of blame and morality to describe the situation. I am not even implying what we are doing there is wrong. But, I can't help but laugh at us (the United States) when we try to use the "we are at war" justification for our actions as if our 'enemy' was somehow involved in creating the confrontation.
What we are doing is kicking the crap out of the weenie on the schoolyard who either doesn't have enough common sense or has to much pride to call himself a weenie in front of all the other kids just because we ordered him to.
