The spot described sounds like spleen 15( acupuncture point) which is a very important point for regulating the qi of the large intestine typically used clinically for constipation but also used for diarrhea

it has also been used clasically for sadness and weeping and also sighing ( which indicates liver qi stagnation, which indicates emotional stress, anger etc.)
