i had a version of tinea. it was tinea versacolor (like ringworm)
you can get this from your pets too.
you HAVE to treat your pets. and it had NOTHING to do with being dirty. i showered twice a day and always had clean clothing
BUT
mine came from working in a humid and hot enviroment and from having dirty bowels. i treaded it with script and nothing worked until:

1- two 4 day master cleanses
2- a couple short water fasts
3- washing with extra strength neem soap and scrubby gloves (antibacterialantifungal)
4- always washing my clothing in hot water and using Oxypowder in the loads i washed while the rash was visable
5-swabbing the affected area with blackhead clearing "clean and clear" and Acne treatment for you face (it has sal acid that kills fungus. it leaves behind a layer that fights it all day)
6- using extra strength gold bond powder (it has sal acid too)
7-doing the three herb parasite cleanse
8- cutting breads and sugars out of my diet. (not absolute but out of mainstay)
9- washing my sheets all the time(everyday)
