Re: Benefits of the salt/vit.C protocol info..52560

Did a quick net search and many studies show that a high salt intake promotes H. pylori. However, it's the refined table salt in processed food which is used in these studies. So don't know what effect the Sea Salt has. I did find something interesting about the vitamin C:

"There is evidence that supplemental vitamin C can inhibit the growth of Helicobacter pylori in both in vitro and animal studies. Thus it might have the potential to reduce the incidence of H. pylori-induced ulcers and subsequent gastric carcinoma. In vitro, high concentrations of vitamin C inhibited up to 90% of H. pylori growth. There was also significant inhibition of growth in animal experiments using oral administration of vitamin C."

"High concentratins of ascorbic acid in gastric juice may reduce the risk of gastric cancer by inhibiting, as noted, the formation of carcinogenic N-nitroso compounds. Additionally, increased oxidative stress to the gastric mucosa has been reported in Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis, a condition that predisposes to gastric cancer. There is preliminary evidence that vitamin C can inhibit growth of Helicobacter pylori."

Do a net search on vitamin C and H.pylori and you'll find lots of similar positive info, maybe this is better than the Sea Salt ???
