Re: Peace is Patriotic

There are some who would say that the only way human beings will raise to higher states of awareness is to not be human, just be a being. We can be so sure we are right, know what is good, and never know the damage we cause. We get swept up in trends and fashions, some that last for centuries, like the idea of democracy, patriarchal society, and christianity. It can take several lifetimes before we wake up, and meanwhile, the avalanche has started and it is too late for the pebbles to vote... Look, there are many way to get to the same place, but I would be inclined to state that it is better to do it together rather than alone. And peace is not patriotic. Patriotic rhymes with idiotic and the two are much closer than you know. Peace is generally a good thing, but it will pass, like all things, and understanding that makes it all the more possible. However, so often the enforcement of peace leads to oppression (brickwork on the road to hell that is paved with good intentions), and just because you want it doesn't mean it is necessary or that it is good.
