I strongly recommend reading a book called "Where God Lives: the Science of the paranormal and how our brains are linked to the universe" written by Melvin Morse, M.D., with Paul Perry. Melvin Morse has documented many, many near-death experiences, mostly of children. The beautiful place that they describe where they go while they are "clinically dead" is beyond words, but through the eyes of children and their words -- one definitely gets a taste of it.
