Scientology; are u thinking what I'm thinking?

I made a visit to a Scientology church about a yr ago. I was given a tour. I saw all of the auditing equipment and books ever written by Hubbard.
My question is, what would compel a man to write voraciously on spiritual matters such as that? What's the driving force?
I was so amazed at the many large volumes of books upon books that Hubbard penned. How can you write all of that in one lifetime? Where did he get his information from that's contained in those books. And why do I have an uneasy feeling about Scientology? As if it's a cult or something. What are your opinions?
