They had perforated his colon and to let it heal, he needed to wear a temporary colostomy bag.
He thought he went to good doctors in Boston.
The problem is you never forget that and who knows it might not happen often.

If you want to do a mild cleanse, you might try one of the oxygen ones( Oxypowder , colosan, homozone).

But if I was in your case, I would ask Andreas Moritz opinion.
I really have no knowledge about what you can do and what is safe.

I am doing the Oxypowder one and all the solids have changed to water.
