Am i reading you right? You father in law had to have a bag put on because they had to remove his colon after a colonoscopy?? Did they (doctors) ever say what was the reason for the bag?

I never knew either that a colonoscopy could be dangerious for diverticulitis patients. I just read this on the net. But come to think of it my cousin just had one ..a regular colonoscopy after she had an attact of diverticulitis..i think..she just wrote me that they found some type of colitis also with the colonoscopy.

And that brings me to the second question on my mind...I've been thiking of colon cleansing..but i wonder if that is a big risk also...for perforation of a pocket of diverticulitis??
