John every discipline in Science has either missing data and occasionally what appears to be contrary evidence.

A examination of our knowledge of gravity, light, atomic theory, EM theory, all have similar quirks. But we don't say "God" everytime there is an anomaly. The intelligent person seeks to understand the anomaly and how it really fits into the theory. BTW I know of no evidence contrary to evolution.
