Re: Creationist Psychology Revealed

There have many, many ideas throughout the history of science that due to a new experiment or new information scientist were force to abandon their old ideas and adapt/create new models to fit the new reality.

So basically you're agreeing with me while trying to save face about the stupidity of your comment that an inconvenient truth can "topple" science. Don't think I don't recognize it for what it is, and don't think I'm going to let you save face over the issue. You are too emotionally invested in your beliefs about evolution not to be tripped up every now and then. Deal with it.

Religion does the opposite, it adapts and perverts reality to fit old ideas. It is static, stagnant, and because of it its practitioners are also intellectually stagnant.

Like evolution? Evolution is an "old idea" that you're desperate to believe in because it's the cornerstone of your rejection of all things religious. If you'd stop believing in evolution and start looking at all the evidence, not just the portions that suit your favorite theory, maybe you could be the one to figure out just what the heck is going on. That won't happen, however, as long as you play "Evolution is my Religion (but I can't admit it)."

When I point out inconvenient truths directly from the Bible to a Christian, what does the Christian do? Fall back on explanations of how his belief could be correct in spite of the inconvenient truths, no matter how far fetched the explanations are. What did you do when I pointed out some inconvenient truths? Fall back on explanations of how your belief in evolution could be correct in spite of the inconvenient truths, in spite of the extreme lack of evidence to back up the explanations (i.e. how far fetched they are).

That's why some of us claim that evolution is your religion. Your behavior is such a close parallel of creationists' behavior that, except for which "side" you're on, you are virtually indistinguishable.

Last time I checked, science is about evidence, not wishful thinking.
