Re: Once Saved, Always Saved?

actually, that would not please me at all.
you do not understand what i am saying because you are not coming from the same perspective. you do not believe in heaven or hell as far as i understand, and for you there is only being "as good as possible" in this life to please God.
i want to please God as well, but i am very thankful to know that this life here on earth is not my heaven. i have something much, much better, something beyond my comprehension, to look forward to after this earthly body passes away. i am so thankful that my salvation is not based on my good works but on my faith in Jesus. i will do good works, but they will be as the result of my salvation not in order to obtain it. i am forgiven and i am the Lord's, therefore there is nothing to fear.

"you are putting the cart before the horse. and it is a bit like viewing god like a Sugar daddy - no real relationship, no real intimacy, no real time spent with them, but if one is sick, or need something material, or die, then he has to pony up and do his part, regardless of what the other has done or not done in the relationship."

God is not my "sugar daddy", He is the Maker of the universe who died to save me. He is not there to give me everything that I want. He knows what is best for me, and in this world (since it is not heaven) we can't expect everything to be perfect.
