Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Nothing has ever done more for my faith than to study Daniel 7. The four beasts are four kingdoms,Dan. 7:17.
They came out of the sea. The sea is "peoples, and multitudes, and nations" Rev. 17:15.
The lion is Babylon. The bear is the Medo-Persian empire. The leopard is the Grecian empire. The fourth beast is the Roman empire.

History shows that these things did happen, just like God said they would.
