Re: What is TRUE Christianity?
There are several different versions and translations of the bible. Just go to any book store and you can probably find at least 4 or 5 versions. Scholars have argued about the translations for centuries. The Dead Sea Scrolls and other findings have resulted in revisions just in the last 50 or so years.
That being said, I Do beleive the bible is the word of God, but its been translated and handed down over the generations by Man. Man is not perfect, only God is perfect. So there are going to be some ommisions and mistakes. So we must take what the bible says and combine it with prayer and what is in our heart to find the truth.
I don't dispute the fact there is a Hell or someplace Satan and his followers are destined to be. But I do worry about christians that focus too much on Hell and that everyone who's not a christian is going there... :)
Wouldn't it be better to focus on Jesus teachings of loving God and your fellow man??? Rather than scaring people by telling them they will go to Hell? I'd much rather inspire people by convincing them to love and respect everyone, including their enemies and tell them the story of sacrifice that Jesus made for us and our Sins...
Cheers,
Mike
