Re: Christianity and Cleansing

Not sure what Bible you are reading that allows you align yourself with two different followings, but:

To become a full grown man,
to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
that we may no longer be children,
tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine,
by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ--Ephesians 4:13b-15a

Even just a few years after Jesus's death, many begin to intertwine Christianity with the gods of Greek/Roman mythology. Intertwining orgies, drunkenness, etc. This is what Paul had to say in regards to those who were practicing this:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

So, you see, brother, those who know the Truth, ONLY need the Truth. Nothing else. :) Love ya!
