The early church was primarily made up up observant Jews who embraced Jesus as Messiah. They honored the Sabbath (as did Paul) ( see Ten Commandments )and met in small groups without the need for "productions" as put on in many church buildings some 2000 years later. It seems that many groups "practice" a form of Godiness but deny God's power. Also, the scriptures they used for teaching, correction, and reproof was what we call the "Old Testament", as the "New Testament" was some letters being distributed to various groups. It is amazing how we have been taught the God made a mistake by making the Jews his chosen people. I don't believe God made any mistakes---ever. Check your history books regarding Constantine the Great, and you will see why so many of us have been raised up in churches that don't resemble the early church as in Acts. We read of the fruits of the spirit, yet many groups don't believe we can have those fruits. Just a thought.
