Yes, the colors of the ear wax and the candle are easily discernable.

I always wonder what those who say the stuff in the candles is coming from the candle are talking about. The wax tha comes out looks just like earwax. In my mind, there is no doubt. Stick a q-tip in your ear afterwards, you'll get the same color coming straight out of your own ear -- proof positive.
