Re: What's the deal? Safe?

Sorry, forgot to answer about timings. Don't use on inflammed ears, very good used at the end of a cold or with sinus problems or headaches. If you have Reiki, very good to use with emotional problems - get client to imagine problems "going away up the chimney" or sending prayers or whatever - some kind of visualisation, if they feel comfortable with this. Most will go to sleep anyway. For stubborn conditions 3 sessions 3-7 days apart. More than that, and you may be overstimulating the ear which can make any earwax problem worse. This is the problem with syringing - it can over-stimulate earwax production and soon the problem returns. The best thing about candles is that they are gentle and will be helpful over time. Re. safety, the Biosun candles are filtered and hopefully others are, but I don't know that they all are. The filter isn't very fine. In theory, you could get beeswax in the ear. Just don't burn the candles down too far and don't leave the client alone with the candle in the ear. It's probably safer to burn candles horizontally (i.e. with client sitting in chair) but more enjoyable for them if they are lying down. I've been using them for around 1 year, with no mishaps. To protect hair and face, cut an ear-sized shallow slit in a face flannel and put the client's ear through this before putting the lit candle into the ear (light candle before inserting). I'll stop because I'm starting to sound like someone's parent.
