Re: Son's first NAET visit - doubting Thomas

I have found it time-consuming to find info on NAET, so I thought I would pass this along. The following excerpt is from this website: There is another site posted at the bottom.

Re: Has anyone heard of NAET treatments for MCS?
Posted by Bil Thurston on 11/20/05

I have been disabled with MCS (triggered mostly by chemical fragrances) for over a year
and unable to work as a result since July 2005. Because of the requirements of insurance
companies, I first took the standard allergist route and took a course of allergy meds for
over 3 months, by which time my gums were seriously bleeding; I had bruises over my
whole body; and I found a flight of stairs problematic.

I stopped the allergy meds; started taking good quality vitamins and minerals; and, finally,
got official approval to take treatment from a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine who
also practises NAET. Because I have a doctorate that includes a lot of Western science, I
was initially skeptical but won over when he demonstrated for me that he could reliably
distinguish what I was sensitive to from what I was not on the basis of my strength. It
certainly requires one to abandon the Newtonian physics that most Westerners carry with
them through their daily lives but it has a lot in common with healing practices in Papua
New Guinea, a connection that I find intellectually stimulating.

Anyway, I have had weekly treatments for almost two months now and I have been
improving slowly but steadily. Whereas I used to end up aphasic and ataxic on the floor
after an exposure to common shampoo, I actually ate in a restaurant last weekend for the
first time in two years; on the way home, we shopped in a supermarket. Although I was
exposed to various perfumes, I had none of the nasty responses I had only months ago.
NAET is clearly having a very positive affect, to the point where I'm now planning to return
to my regular job as a prof.

Standard Western medical people do not know it all, a point emphasized for me by my own
very wise and compassionate MD who provided the formal referral to the Chinese medicine
man. The allergist took the route of treating me for the symptoms and dismissing the
cause as a psychological disorder--the results were even more devastating than the MCS,
which became markedly worse under his care. According to the tests done by my medicine
man, I was allergic to chemicals in the allergy meds I had been prescribed. My doctor of
Chinese medicine, in contrast, is treating me for the MCS and the mind-body-soul
problems that have left me vulnerable to MCS in the first place. I've also had food allergies
for decades and they seem to be settling down as well.

I strongly recommend anyone get NAET treatments.

I hope you find help!
