i conducted an experiment on mice.

one group i fed healthy and fresh water they stayed managable and
socially healthy

other group i fed high Sugar foods/ junk foods/ and soda for drink.
within about 1 week they were vicious and mean to each other.. and worse i could barely feed them they were agressive about
trying to bite my fingers just to get near the cage they would get hyper, and when i did manage to get food and replace the drink bottles, they would bite at each other even to drawing blood.. to eat as much of the junk food as possible.

i did this experiment when at a very young age.
it greatly impressed upon me the fact of poor diet does greatly affect how we as a people respond and interact..
not to count other avenues of triggers/ etc that also affect us all..
clearly a high Sugar intake such as an alcoholic gets is addictive of its own power by the body craving it
and worsens further if diet is not of a healthful nature.

i have to agree that correcting a health deficiency can go a long ways in then being able to deal with the Sugar addiction and the psychological reasons for chemical addiction also (whether it be alcohol, or drugs etc)

so in my eyes i think thayt both are necessary (personal choices and sticking to a goal to quit/ and if get suppotive friends all the better..)
but also in dealing wiht correcting the dietary issue and treatments to help balance the physical body too.

just something i learned long ago from mice experiments..
those mice fed the bad diet completely changed in nature
all because of sugar addiction and bad diet.

so i agree castor oil , cinnamin/ detoxes/ sweat teas etc/
water flushes the whole deal.. avoiding toxic food etc..
should be a part of the foundation of any goal to break an addiction.
