Re: thank you... (((wrenn)))... ;-)
sure is drof
All the things I dreamed of doing,as a drunk I'm now doing. got a beautiful 7yo daughter a dog a cat 600 tropical fruit trees a great wife. people that respect and love me. No one here has ever seen me drunk or stoned. To be treated with respect is a great thing to be loved is even better. The local people here in our village know I was a drunk in my past life and seem to be proud of me that I don't drink. They think its a great joke to over me a drink and laugh when I say khrop khun khrup dae por louw, which means thank you but I have had enough. I laugh too because I feel so good.
I think part of being sober, outside of AA meetings, is feeling so good about being sober and straight.
I'm actually 5 hours bus trip north of Bangkok where the nearest meetings are held. Get down a couple of times a year.
Usually buy a couple of Big Books, in Thai to hand out to anyone who might want one. My wife tells everyone I'm an ex-drunk so the whole village knows, I don't speak Thai very well so I'm not into starting up a meeting.
