Hi, i have looked at your message and I strongly suggest you read my previous message (below). My areas that were affected were identicle to yours and looked the same etc... Now they are close to normal (will never be what they were but are close to it). My top part is healed with no more problem at all and my bottom almost. Its been three weeks now since stopping using the cream and I am so close to never having a problem again. PS: USE BEESWAX LIPSOLE NOT VASELINE AS VASELINE IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE.

hi everyone, i have posted here before and have searched for a cure for years now and finally found one. I have tried lip shaves, cortisone injections, several different creams inlusing protopic, fucidin etc... and although these creams did stop the lips from peeling they were not a permanent cure. When stopped using the creams they went right back to 'hell' as i call it. Anyways, my derm doctor perscribed me ***EFUDEX 5%*** it is a cream used to treat skin cancer and works by eliminating the abnormal cells that cause all of us the suffering we experience from this exfoliative cheilitis. Well, i used this cream three times a week for 2 weeks on my lips and for the first week and a half they were not changed then all hell broke loose. The affected areas turned to scab over a period of 3 days and the scab stayed for a week in a half. If you thought your lips were bad wait till you try this cream. Anyways, if you going to use it i suggest you plan your vacation from work for the third week after your initial use of the cream. It is really bad what i went through during treatment but it is now one week after the scabs are gone and it is like i have new lips without any problem. I really think they are healed, no peeling, redness, drying, scabing, etc... Look like all of us sufferers might finally have a chance to being normal again. I am going to work with my doctor to write a up a study and send it to a derm journal so all can experience freedom when talking, eating, smiling, and laughing again without the thoughts of lips on the mind. Ill make a second post in a weeks time to update on the condition. Until then, i suggest you wait for my post cause it is not worth ging through the treatment if it doesnt work but i think it will. Until then research the cream at their website and ask your doctor about it.
