Re: Too much vitamin C??

Dear PP,

Vitamin C will not prevent your body from
absorbing the other vitamins and nutrients it
needs. If that were true, I would be long-
since dead. I've been mega-dosing on vitamin
C since 1977. 300 mg a day is not really very
much.

I suspect the dryness around your mouth is
related to the tobacco addiction which you
just banished from your life; a kind of
healing reaction. You smoked the cigarettes
by holding them between your lips. Perhaps
your lips got used to some ingredient in
the smoke, probably a toxic one, that is
no longer available to your lips. My best guess is that the dryness will disappear
in the weeks and months ahead.

Congratulations for conquering your smoking
addiction! Most experts say that even heroin
and alcohol are not as addictive as cigarettes. Many people give cigarettes up
for a few weeks or months, and then feel the
overwhelming urge to go back to them. Stay
strong and stay alert! Don't become over-
confident. It's an insidious addiction.

I also applaud you for your new vegetarian
eating regimen, and the large amounts of water you're drinking each day. I hope it's
water that has been distilled, or cleansed
with a reverse-osmosis filter. Those are the
the only two water-cleansing methods that
will remove fluoride from water. Alas,
the reverse-osmosis filtering system will not remove viruses.

All by itself, the large amount of water you're drinking will begin to flush the toxins
out of your body. VERY few Americans drink
as much water each day, as their bodies need.
Dehydration causes a vast number of health
problems, including serious illnesses and
painful degenerative conditions.

In your place, PP, I would raise my daily dose
of vitamin C to perhaps 3,000 mg a day. Your immune system needs that extra vitamin C to begin the healing process. After a couple of weeks at the 3,000 mg a day level, you could
try doubling that to 6,000 mg. Do some
reading on this forum among the R/N posts
to help educate yourself about vitamin C.

You've made a Major Turnaround in your life,
PP; one that you will never regret. I salute
your wisdom, and applaud your determination.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Blessings,

Owen
