Re: What is the most reliable bio compatibility test, if necessary?
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for your reply. I read most of your messages and learned al lot.
May I ask how much did you pay for composite? Do you know how much they charge for replacing
Amalgam with Diamondlite per tooth?
I called Dr. Breiner's office but they didn't want to tell me much before initial visit & exam, which will cost me $600. Certainly, Dr Breiner's practice seems very thorough and probably worth the money, if I hadn't already spent more than $500 for X-ray & exam. I'm just afraid I may not afford his state-of-the-art service, especially I'm leaning toward gold fillings. But I'm still interested, and I wish they could tell me before I go there how much it will cost me for 6 fillings and one onlay or crown for each material.
I understand your point about gold alloy's possible battery effect due to voltage difference among dissimiar metals. Not just that, I'm also afraid gold alloy might not be as stable as we hope without Palladium, a well known poison. But I don't want to even consider composite, if I have to check & redo every 2 to 5 years. Or does Dr. Beiner use special kind of "metal free" composite that can last long?
Is it right that for onlay or crown, gold alloy is the only option that does not compromise the existing tooth by cutting it away more?
I'd like to thank you all and will appreciate any comments/advices.
