Re: Herpes on the face?

Hi There,

When you experience these outbreaks, is there any swelling underneath your jaw, approximately halfway along the bottom jaw? In these region are glandsher side, which tend to swell when there is an outbreak. This isnt necessarily applicable to everyone as a symptom.

The fact that you note when you have one forming, another four or so will pop up, as well as always in the same place does seem indicative of Herpes, but I think it best you get tested.

From My understanding, there are several types of Herpes viruses, with the most common being HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 typically is responsible for oral coldsores, as the virus prefers to reside in the back of your neck, in or around the spine. HSV2 generally prefers the lower spine and consequently is the cause of most genital herpes. At the end of the day, there are virtual the same, with genetial herpes really simply being coldsores down stairs.

This leads me to think that should you indeed have herpes, its quite possible that it is HSV2, as you may have caught it from giving oral sex. Mind you, though each type has its preference, they can end up the oposite way. Again, get yourself checked. A simple blood test will do as it would seem this has been an ongoing condition. Recent infections can take 12 weeks to show up in blood work.

If I may make a suggestion based on my own research and trial and error, find yourself some quality coconut oil. next time you have an outbreak, or can feel one coming, rub some oil into the region (gently).

As it stands, you may not have Herpes at all, though statistically, around 80% of the adult population has HSV1, but not all show symptoms and hence dont realise they have it. When it comes to genital herpes, many women do not realise they have it because if it is inside the vaginal cavity, where there are no "touch" or "sense" receptors, they dont feel it.

I hope this helps. Again, this is an assessment based on my experiences and doesnt mean it is accurate.

Let me know how you go

Cheers
