Re: What ????

Plese explain how you can say that the word 'agape' can not be found in the bible?

Agape as I would hope you know, is a Greek word. The Greek language has three words to describe with precision what we narrow down to one word: love. These being; agape, filios and eros. As the other two words do not have as much to do with describing the kind of Godly/Spiritual love prescribed in the scriptures, we need to use agape to describe the concept. English, as well as many other modern languages, are very inept at describing things with the subtleties possible with languages such as Greek and Hebrew. However let us not forget that the bible was not written in King James English, and that over the course of time translators have arrived at many translations or transliterations from the original languages. Contrary to the opinion of some critics, many of these are very accurate.

As the new testament was translated from the Greek, the word appears in the bible hundreds of times. Whatever doctrine man uses or misuses with relation to the word, is irrelevant to its given inclusion in the Scriptures.
