Well Mr. Cooties your theory does sound logical,but.....this is my experience. I took Ala a week after Amalgam removal and it made me quite sick. I then took Dmsa per Andys protocol starting about one month after Amalgam removal (18 amalgams-45 years) and it made me feel sick everytime I took it . I took it for about 5 months. I stopped taking any chelators until 9 months after removal. Then I noticed that neither one made me feel sick. Since then I take 2 Ala (200mg) every day. So my opinion is that you should not take any chelators unitl 9 months after removal. And if you are mercury sensitive you will not be cured until you remove the Amalgams even if you take chelators in my opinion. But why not experiment?
