I agree with Lapis that this is probably the best you can do, you may not convert the detractor himself, but you will probably open quite a few eyes to an alternative way.

Some of my thoughts on the subject:

All of the various cleanses and other programs are not what heals the body. What they do is remove toxic waste and restore homeostasis so the body can cleanse itself. Drugs do not heal, they mask the symptoms. If the drug itself is not too toxic the body will eventually heal itself.

Surgery might take away the point of inflammation or disease, but it does not heal, it alters how the body functions. Just because a person can live without tonsils, the appendix or a gallbladder does not mean that those organs were vestigial and served no purpose.

Belief is an essential element in alternative health. The faith needs to be in the body's natural intelligence. Those who place all their faith in a supplement, herb, cleansing protocol or other methodology is just as dependent as a traditional drug user is on his drugs. A complete change of thinking is necessary to truly reap the benefits of alternative medicine. Its not possible to fully grasp what natural healing really is until the allopathic mindset is broken. Without an open mind, few will enjoy what natural healing of the body, mind and spirit really offers, true healing as opposed to simply controlling the symptoms.
