Re: Wildoats.com Kidney Tea Herbs - Comfrey Root Warning!
Gracey,
I sat down this afternoon to place an order with wildroots.com for the kidney tea recipe you provided above. When I got to the section for Comfrey root - there is a warning saying not to take this internally. The message is as follows:
Safety Information: WARNING: External Use Only. Consuming this product can cause serious liver damage. Comfrey contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which may cause serious illness or death. This product should not be taken orally, used as a suppository, or applied to broken skin. Not to be used during pregnancy or while nursing. Not recommended for long term use.
The Queen of Meadow had a similar warning.
Your notes say per Andreas, this recipe is super gentle. However, the warning above concerns me. Am I looking at the wrong herbs here?
Also, several of the herbs have the option of purchasing in C/S as well as Pwd. Which, in your option, is the better option?
I appreciate your advice on this. I know you highly recommend these herbs and I just want to ensure I am reading your directions right and am selecting the correct and safe herbs.
Thanks!
