Then why have they not pointed out the abuses of the medical industry that Trudeau has? Also, there are many M.D.'s accused of fraudulent charges. Why are they not exposed on quackwatch. Get over it, Quackwatch specifically targets a select group of people and products.
>- I also don't think there has been a proven case in which an FDA scientist has been proven to take a bribe in order to pass a drug.
Hmmmm??? And just how much of the FDA's budget is paid by the pharmaceutical companies? Over 55 percent of the FDA'a budget is a bribe from the pharmaceutical companies. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Pure bribery. We pay your salary, get the job done!
>- The resultant cost of first defending litigation and any possible damage awards would make it more cost more than they could ever make.
So what litigation is the FDA having to face as a result of approving Vioxx? Bextra? or the other improperly approved pharmaceuticals that they have passed?
What about the platinum drugs that put so many cancer sufferers in the grave? They are approved but significantly ineffective except in a few rare cases and horrendously toxic. There are far better therapies that are intentionally suppressed in the US but are freely used in almost every other country in the world, resulting in lower death rates from cancer in those countries.
>- Lipitor ... so all we know is that they are better than nothing.
Actually, while the statins may lower cholesterol somewhat, they are not better than nothing. They cause unnecessary deaths, especially from liver failure, and are the result one of the greatest quackeries of all. There is little or no relationship of cholesterol to heart failure. People with low cholesterol have as high of risk as those with mildly high cholesterol. The body uses cholesterol to patch cracks in the arteries that result from insufficient vitamins, especially vitamin C insufficiency. Homocysteine has a far greater significance in predicting heart attacks but they do not have a drug that can lower that so they push statins instead. This will come to be known as one of the greatest scams of all time. So why does quackwatch not report this? Reducing cholesterol is a simple dietary change for most people.
>- Bringing a drug to market is a painstakingly difficult process that could be derailed by almost the most inoccous things. It takes years and millions of dollars to pass through each of the phases required by new drug submission and the paperwork is obscenely complicated
The exact same is true for alternative therapies and herbals but they can not be patented so no one will put up the money for the approval process. Additionally, I have reviewed a number of tests on such herbals and find that they are very often booby trapped by reducing dosages below minimal effectiveness, selecting substandard sources, etc.
Additionally, I can add here personal experience. I was considering bearing the financial burden of trying to get the
Hulda Clark Zapper approved so I contacted an attorney who used to work with the FDA. He told me not to bother. First, I would have to spend a minimum of 1 to 2 million dollars on testing, but this would not matter anyhow. He stated very bluntly in the end that the FDA would find a way to pigeon hole acceptance. If it was finally forced through somehow, they would require a prescription for its use and have it fixed so that it could only be prescribed after all other options had proveably failed. The only reason given for this was that it would be necessary to protect the income of pharmaceutical companies and medical professionals.
>- Neither Quackwatch nor I have any financial ties to any commercial or industrial organization.
Of course not. The donations come from individuals who may or may not belong to certain organizations and certainly do not disclose such information. You can bet on who provides support to this outfit and its obvious agenda. This support is not likely to come from most people who are not involved with protectinig the medical mafia.
>- The total cost of operating Quackwatch's many Web sites is approximately $7,000 per year.
And just how much do they get in donations ? As this is a private operation, this is not disclosed. Also, not disclosed is the members personal incomes and benefits from undisclosed sources. Perks such as country club memberships, paid attendance to conferences including expenses, paid attendance at pharmaceutical breifings held on tropical paradise islands, little unanounced gifts in the mail, etc.
