The good news is that even if it is thyroid cancer, they don't use chemo on that type of cancer. That's why you usually see an endocrinologist instead of an oncologist. I found out I had thyroid cancer when I went for something else and the Dr. felt the lump. They told me that if you're going to get cancer, that's the kind to get because they can just cut out your thyroid (and you take a little pill every day to replace it). I've been doing all sorts of alternative things - making organic vegetable juice and trying to eat mostly raw foods - but I also let them cut out my thyroid. In my case the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes, and the bones and lungs are next. So you don't want to ignore it. Maybe it's not cancer at all! I read that almost all thyroid growths aren't cancer. What has amazed me through all this is how important the thyroid is - I never knew anything about it.
