Here is my Beef

The thing that really bothers me about the removal (then the return of) some of the posted messages is the fact that a moderator, who knows nothing about atheism, and had no idea "how the forum grew to such proportions" took it upon herself to lord her power of deletion over the forum.

* She called atheism a religion; it is not. I explained this to her, and she deleted that message without giving reason.

* She accused the forum of "baiting" christians with the posted message to prove the existence of god. I do not recall any message posted calling out christians specifically. Any person believing in a god or gods were welcome to post a response. It just so happened that only christians felt compelled to answer.

* She said this forum is not for debating christian vs atheist views. I never saw that rule any where. She also said the forum was created specifically not to allow any christian or god prespectives. I never saw that rule either.

As for the name calling, well that was almost totally Chaz. Chaz does that on every forum, and has behaved the same way ever since I first found CureZone, when he was posting as Grog. I assume he has been banned for the name calling.

I understand the moderators moderate from the goodness of their own hearts. That is very generous and much appreciated. But when one moderator projects her feelings on to a forum by deleting messages, it is no longer moderation. It is censorship.
