Re: Read the blood type diet
Hi Cathy
Thank you for your note and information, I find it most useful and interesting. Certainly taught me a lot.
I have a very simple philosophy in life and do not believe in diets of any sort. I believe each and every one of us is an individual and different. What may work for one need not necessarily work for another. Reason for the so many different claims that this worked for one but did nothing for another.
As far as food is concerned, I believe our body needs a wide variety of food - botanical and animal. One of the reasons, I stopped my daughter from being a vegetarian. We need to eat a wide variety of food to provide all the different substances that our body needs. What is important is that, everything in moderation - no excesses - and you will be fine. As we age, our body is no longer able to produce a lot of the substances required of a healthy body and also may not be able to absorb that efficiently too. On top of that, many of the good substances although absorbed cannot be retained or stored like when we were young. A reason for supplements.
In addition to that we must drink lots and lots of water to enable the body a medium to expel toxins and wastes from the body efficiently. This helps with BM too on a regular basis. Then there is exercise, exercise and exercise!! Without exercise, you can try and do whatever is healthy and it might not work. Exercise is so important which we all seem to overlook and diet, etc is not sufficient.
In terms of health food, supplements, etc, I feel that one must keep an open mind and try whatever one thinks would work for the individual. If it does, that's great, if it does not then maybe try something else.
Take care n keep well
