Re: Milk: A food that kills!?!?!?!
You may be partially right--many societies and cultures have used milk as a food for thousands of years, and some successfully. However, your stance is so defensive and angry that no one here is going to listen to you or take you seriously. As a child and adolescent, I was given raw, un-pasteurized, un-homogenized milk, and it seemed a good thing to me. However, over time, it became more and more difficult to obtain this kind of milk. Not only was it raw, and in its natural state, it didn't contain drugs and hormones such as the milk that comes from today's modern dairies, where production and the bottom line are everything. Today's dairy farmers are striving to modernize and keep up with the times, and this means using BGH and lots of
Antibiotics . These substances wind up in the milk we consume and feed to our children. This is a serious health concern, and should not be taken lightly. Also, you may not be aware that although pasteurization and homogenization are done with the public good in mind, they actually make the milk much less usable to the body. Pasteurization kills not only harmful bacteria in the milk, but also destoy any good bacteria and the enzymes that help us digest the milk. Homogenization causes the protein molecules in the milk to be coated with fat, making them unassimilable in digestion.
Part of my overcoming of allergies and chronic illness that included fevers, chills, body-aches, sinusitis and pneumonia, was giving up milk. I still consume small amounts of milk products, but drinking milk straight still makes me ill.
Please do your research. Thousands upon thousands of people have found better health by giving up milk. Believe me, in its present form, it does anything but do a body good.
You may be genuinely concerned, but you could also be more informed. And perhaps more open-minded.
