I had the same thing for years, then it started on my cheeks beside my nose, and in the center of my forehead. Large gummy flakes with red skin underneath, nasty. I did the following, and I don't know what helped, but it is gone now!!!!:

Sporanox (Itracanazone) for toe fungus. I think I had an intestinal fungus and this got rid of it. It had a strong effect on the skin problem, clearing it within days.

Big salad every day

No white bread !!
