Yep, I heard that TSH changed to 3, but you *still have to go by symptoms* and cholesterol. If your cholesterol is under 200, then this level of TSH just happens to be what your body is happy with. It's like, some people have a temperature of 99.0 and that's normal for them. The problem is once you take thyroid hormone, it's difficult to take the right dosage to move TSH by just two points. It's easy to move it by 5, but i fyou do, you're into hyPER land, which is quite uncomfortable.
I like walk-in clinics myself, because I manage to keep more control. I simply get a copy of my lab reports and keep them in my health file. But if you like your current doctor then that's a VERY good thing, VERY important to the healing process.
So check out your cholesterol reading, and if it's somewhere around 200 then chances are you don't need the extra thyroid hormone, you just need thyroid food.
