Re: Candida and pancreatic insufficiency

Okay, here's where all the confusion stems from: the symptoms of acid stomach are often due to TOO LITTLE gastric juices, not too much! So if you're burping large bits of food after a meal, you have TOO LITTLE gastric juices. In that case you need both the HCL Betaine and digestive enzymes. But I never felt good on HCL Betaine, never got the dose exactly right, so instead I did things like:

Take a B vitamin complex (pre-cursor to HCL) every-other day
Drank a small cup of warm water with half a lemon and dash of Sea Salt prior to every meal. Sometimes added a few drops of hydrogen peroxide.
Ate very small meals
Avoided raw vegetables except for juice and green salads, ate steamed veggies, soaked and slow cooked grains with plenty of heating, pungent spices such as garlic, ginger, cumin, onion.

and followed all the other guidelines for increasing digestive power. I lived on spicy teas for a long while, now I don't need them except in the winter when I tend to be cold.
